Brain tumors may grow in the brain as tumors, or cancer may begin elsewhere in your corpus and spread to the brain.

Germ cell tumors – This tumor grows in childhood where the ovaries and the testicles form.

Brain Tumor Treatment Options

Surgery

A neuro oncologist performs a surgery to remove abnormal tissue / cancer. In cases where brain cancer is in that part of the brain where the surgery can cause damage to other portions, it is often better not to operate. If all cancer cells cannot be removed from the surgery, symptoms are alleviated and other treatments become more efficient.

Radiation Therapy

This therapy tries to destroy the ability of cancer cells to function and replicate by using high energy radiation. It is normally used for the destruction of any cancer cells in the area after surgery.

Chemotherapy

Doctors try to destroy brain cancer cells by using certain medicines. Tablets or injections are given for chemotherapy. Doctors can also place a chemotherapy-containing implant directly in the cavity of brain cancer.

Immunotherapy

Doctors try to destroy brain cancer cells by using certain medicines. Tablets or injections are given for chemotherapy. Doctors can also place a chemotherapy-containing implant directly in the cavity of brain cancer.
